Artifical intelligence and societal jobs

This has been on my mind for some time now. Artificial intelligence technology is already becoming a big part of companies.

I think AI has 2 forms of impact on societal jobs. First it is going to replace all sorts jobs that require some form of static labour (like administrative functions and IQ-jobs). I my opinion IQ will become less and less important for a job requirement. Because computers (AI) will within a few years outperform humans in the IQ space. It is already happening with a Chinese AI system. Same thing with strategic thinking, in future companies use computers for this. Google has already done this with its AI. Trust me the game Go, is the hardest strategic game.

The simple labour is going to be replaced by machines (look at the automation of amazon warehouses). Also a lot of IQ intensive jobs will become less and less needed.

People with a (high) emotional intelligence will become in greater demand. The actual people skills, communication skills. Here a link about eq vs iq from the huffingtonpost.

With all this in mind, what is going to change? So there is shift coming in job skills. I think we are shifting from a degrees oriented market towards a skills oriented society. People with a high IQ will get through school, people with a high EQ will get you through life. Again, EQ being the person who has the social skills and better communication skills.

Now comes the interesting part, some countries are already experimenting with this; basic income. Personally I was against this but that has changed. Why, because I think AI will give us a better performing GDP per country and that will enable countries to introduce a basic income. Not everybody will be able to find a job in the future or create enough money for themselves to survive. Without a basic income being introduced in the near future we will have a massive humanitarian disaster coming.
